Meet Evan, the owner of My Gym City Point

Tell us about yourself / your family.
Hi there, I'm Evan Wacht, and I'm thrilled that you've chosen us to embark on countless adventures with your family. My journey with My Gym spans nearly a decade, starting as a teacher in Manhattan and later establishing my own franchise in Brooklyn. It's been an incredible ride, with our first location opening in Park Slope in 2017, followed by Cobble Hill in 2019, and now City Point in 2024. In my family, entrepreneurship runs deep. My mother runs her own public relations company, delving into restaurant critique and travel writing, while my father presides over his real estate firm. Meanwhile, my brother navigates the world of stock trading at Bank of America.

How did you discover My Gym?
My path to My Gym was paved through a decade-long tenure at a day camp in Scarsdale, NY, where I discovered my passion for working with children. Armed with a B.A in Education, I sought a way to combine my love for teaching with my enthusiasm for fitness, and My Gym was the perfect fit.

What are your hobbies? How do you and your family like to spend your time?
Outside of My Gym, fitness remains a central passion, along with spending quality time with friends and taking leisurely strolls with my wife and dog. My wife and I cherish our holiday gatherings with family and the occasional dinners together.

Reflecting on cherished memories, summers spent on Lake Champlain in Vermont stand out as some of my fondest childhood experiences.
