Meet New Owners!
Nic & Crystal Murphy, along with two kids, Cassidy & Brody, are excited to be the new owners of My Gym Downingtown as of March 1, 2025! You may know us from the Murphy Music Center, BoDoc Records, Crystal Murphy Music, and the Murphy Murpets. Our goal is to enrich and support our community and beyond with hand-crafted, unique music programs for children and families. We believe that My Gym is the perfect addition to our family of services to really round things out with fitness and movement! We are so excited to meet each and every family who walks through our doors!
Mr. Nic - Nic Murphy is a silly nut who loves to sing and play! You will find him on the gym floor as a lead teacher and hug-giver. Nic also plays both guitar and bass. He learned both instruments by playing in a local jazz band in Mississippi called Green Eggs and Spam, which lead to a career touring the country with Southern Rock bands. Nic moved to Delaware in 2002 , where he fell in love with the North and the seasons and eventually moved to Downingtown, Pa where he lives with his wife, Crystal, and their 2 kids. When not teaching, you can find Nic in his recording studio, BoDoc Records.
Outside of My Gym, Nic enjoys hiking, camping and playtime at the playground with the kiddos.

Ms. Crystal - Crystal Murphy is ALSO a silly nut who loves to sing and play! Crystal grew up in Indiana where you could always find her tap dancing, singing in the choir, twirling flags in the color guard of her high school band, sewing, playing her bongos, or getting into a bit of general mischief. Crystal went on to graduate Purdue University and the Fashion Institute of NY with degrees in Fashion Design and a minor in Art and Applied Sciences. After traveling the country for a few years, Crystal moved to the Philadelphia area to help her brother begin a small, organic farm outside the city. Eventually, she moved to Downingtown and met her Mr. Right. It wasn't until 2014 that Crystal met her first ukulele and soon after had her first kiddo, Cassidy. When those 2 worlds collided, Crystal Murphy Music was born!
Outside of My Gym, Crystal enjoys snuggling with the family, hiking, playing gigs with her bands, having coffee with friends, crafting, teaching ukulele

- Keep our gym clean and vibrant while adding NEW EQUIPMENT
- Provide robust, full classes at MORE DAYS AND TIMES
