How to Raise a Confident Child
At My Gym, one of our main goals is to help children build their self-esteem and confidence. We do this by always encouraging the children to try new physical skills. At first, they may not want to balance on the high beam or swing from the trapeze but with our positive encouragement and comfortable setting along with reinforcement from their parent(s), we watch children take on new challenges and gain confidence one step at a time. We love seeing their faces glow with the pride that comes from conquering a new challenge. We are so honored knowing we are helping make a big difference in our children's lives. With confidence, children will be able to do anything in this life successfully.
How can parents help their children build confidence at home or at the playground?
- Give your child positive encouragement to try. Sometimes that first step is all it takes.
- Reassure them that it is okay to fall. Stand up, wipe off the dust and start again.
- Encourage them to feel proud of their own accomplishments.
- When the obstacle is more than they can tackle, break it down and start with a small portion
A message from our owner….
My Gym teaches so many valuable skills to help children get a healthy start. Building confidence is my own personal favorite because I feel that if children have the strength to try again and not let road blocks create limits for them that they will be successful in whatever they do. As a mom myself, I love seeing how my daughters shine during their My Gym classes. The teachers always give them that supportive encouragement when it is needed and help them focus to achieve their goals. I'm so proud to be able to offer amazing program at My Gym West Orange.
