This stimulating program introduces balancing, tumbling, hanging and agility skills, which helps the children develop a love of physical activity and a sense of pride in their achievements.
When the kids are around 12 months old, a child's level of independent mobility will typically progress from aggressive crawling to running. Additional fine and gross motor skills developed during this stage include kicking a ball, building a block tower, riding a tricycle, and walking up stairs.
Our highly trained instructors shower the children with affection, as they guide our kiddos in early social skills through interactive songs, choreographed dances, age-specific puppet shows, special rides, and a variety of swings and other original activities.
As the kids grow through the program, the gross motor abilities of 1 to 2 year-olds are often characterized by more confident running and jumping on two feet as well as an overall improved spatial awareness of their bodies. This is the earliest age group with which we work on fine and gross manipulatives in a structured format, as their attention span grows, allowing the child to focus for longer periods of time.

As experts in early child development, My Gym Newport Beach understands the impact preschool or pre-K education has on children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development. In our commitment to educate the whole child, we are offering the “My Gym Preschool Prep Program” every Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm.
This program focuses on the skills needed to excel in preschool and beyond. Through our award-winning My Gym fitness curriculum, arts and crafts, stimulating small group and independent activities, and basic academic preschool instruction, our students will transition into preschool and kindergarten with confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning. This 3-hour program focuses on making learning fun and exciting in the familiar and nurturing atmosphere of My Gym.
The first 2 hours will be spent working in a nurturing, encouraging academic environment with an emphasis on writing, letters, reading, numbers, science, art, socialization and listening skills, and much more.
The final hour of the program is spent on the gym floor, where your kids will take part in fun physical activity including relays, tumbling, sports and games led by your favorite My Gym instructors!

This class focuses on developing STRENGTH, STAMINA, and AGILITY in relays, conditioning exercises, games, team-building and, of course, obstacle courses that change every week. The obstacle courses are intended to challenge kids mentally and physically while instilling a mindset of overcoming adversity both inside and outside of the gym.
This one-hour program for children ages 3-5 years old is designed to be fun and challenging while remaining safe and noncompetitive. We place a high priority on creating a supportive environment where children learn the importance of leading an active and healthy lifestyle.
